June 1, 2006, Chicago -- SDI, along with other Chicago technology industry leaders, participated in the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center’s (CEC) first annual Business Plan Competition, aimed at giving underprivileged high school students exposure to the entrepreneurial world as well as the opportunity to work with the some of the area’s most cutting-edge businesses. The competition, part of the CEC’s Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative, featured local high school students presenting their hypothetical business plans to a panel of judges. The winners were presented new laptops donated by SDI.
“SDI prides itself on supporting education and giving young people opportunities for growth. After all, today’s youth is the workforce of the future," said Brian Diver, SDI’s Executive Vice President and panel judge. "SDI is proud to have been a part of this competition and to see the work the CEC has done in creating educational opportunities for local high school students. I was astounded at the level of talent coming out of these youth and look forward to future events and competitions.”
