SDI Marks Successful Completion of 2007 Internship Program

Chicago, September 10, 2007 SDI (System Development.Integration, LLC), a systems integrator that fuses information technology, security, operations and facility management to support critical organization systems and data, in highly distributed physical asset environments, is proud to report the successful internship program of the 2007 First Chance Initiative.

This program welcomed summer interns from area high schools and universities to work at SDI this past summer, and included two children from Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, a long-term residential home for troubled and hurting young men and women in Chicago.

“It was SDI’s absolute pleasure to have this type of impact on our summer interns as this opportunity provides them with professional development while they are still in school,” said David Gupta, President of SDI. “The credit also needs to go to Mercy Home for providing the lifeline for these children; it matters so much that it continue.”

The ten-week internship provided interns with an opportunity to learn about information technology and to apply their skills to real life projects. Some of the projects that the interns worked on included the rebadging of 45,000 employees for an SDI client.  In addition to gaining practical experience in computer applications, engineering and high technology, interns became accustom to working in a professional environment, participating in teamwork, producing within deadlines, and communicating effectively. SDI had a 100% successful completion rate and is looking forward to the intern program next summer.
