First Response Command Plans™ for City Fire Department
Project Description
SDI was contracted by the fire department to develop First Response Command Plans™ for the high-rise buildings over 45 stories. The purpose of First Response Command Plans™ is to provide first responders with key building information so that they can make quick decisions in fighting fires and saving lives. First Response Command Plans include:
- Building contact and highlighting building-specific critical information (i.e. fire control panel location)
- General building system description (elevator, Stairwells, Sprinkler Risers, Smoke Control Systems, Mechanical Systems/Overrides, Hazmat Locations)
- Entry level/lobby floor plan (siamese connections, active/inactive elevators, stairs, fire control panel locations)
- Elevator/Stair Run Diagram (crossovers and unique floor layouts, vanity stairwells, active/inactive elevators/stairwells)
- Individuals Requiring Assistance listing (disability type, location)
- Typical floor plan (critical emergency information by floor)
- Three-block radius Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Staging Map (hydrant locations, adjacent building footprints, schools/elderly housing)

Project Results
SDI’s First Response Command Plans™ is located at the security desks of the 51
tallest buildings in the city and electronically at the fire department.
