Engineering Discipline Yields Superior Solutions

In 1989, Environmental Systems Design, Inc. (ESD), a premier engineering firm decided to develop an in-house support staff to design and manage information technology solutions for its engineering disciplines. Over the following years, this information services division successfully provided technology services to local governments, utility customers, and businesses in the real estate, health care, banking, and finance industries.

On November 22, 1996, the information services division emerged from the parent company as SDI (System Development.Integration, LLC) with a mission focused exclusively on providing superior information technology solutions and advisory services.

SDI’s roots in engineering offer a unique perspective on our technology projects in the following ways:

  • SDI's deep understanding of facility infrastructure allows us to address facilities and their building systems as strategic assets, so decision makers are armed with the information necessary to best manage their investment.

  • Our engineering discipline provides SDI with a holistic framework for managing technology projects—from concept to design, implementation, operation, and maintenance.

  • SDI’s Project Management Methodology includes engineering best practices such as process-driven approaches, systematic situational analysis, and on-time, on-spec, and on-budget deliverables.

  • SDI's engineering experience provides the firm with a foundation to better understand legacy technologies and their functions as we look to position our customers’ facilities and systems for the future.

From systems of the past to technology of the future, we’re there.
